besides the butler creek covers are there any other better choices???

also what is the best rifle sling? i have a butler creek one but it tends to slide off my shoulder

I am a huge fan of the V-Tac sling, it is very fast and easy to adjust and use.

I use Butler Creek caps as well. I would prefer to use the Leupold alumium caps but they don't fit on my riflescope.
 
As far as rifleslings go, I like the browning accelator slings. It's very adjustable and durable.
