I hope not but, it will be up to the usual contenders. I don't have a camera that can compete and don't know if that will change any time soon. Too many irons in the fire.

I do like to see you all's skills when you get chance to take some pics. Just keep an active topic and post when you can.

I enjoy looking at the entries, and I usually vote, but apparently I have no talent with a camera, so I leave it to the pros.

I hope it’s not dead. I intended to participate in the past 2, but never could come up with any ideas I liked. I try to participate as often as I can.

What I don’t understand is why we have a couple dozen active members and evidently most ignore the photography forum and won’t even open the contest poll threads. In any given month, it seems the contests get a maximum of about 12 votes and sometimes as few as 2 or 3 votes. I can understand someone not having an interest in submitting photos, but they can’t spend a few seconds to click on a poll choice? That concerns me as much as the lack of participation.

For me it's the timing of posting the pic, not too early, usually waiting until the last day. Unfortunately, the last few times it was winner announcement thread that reminded me. D'oh!

I always check the entries but have not voted every time due to not always having a favorite. But that is rare!!

Don't let that discourage you.  Some great pictures come from phones and the sensors are getting better.  The cell phone is also quite handy.

Damn, I was hoping dead was the theme, was gonna find my "get well soon" deer and post that, prolly win some cool stuff for it.

I have become an infrequent photographer and infrequent-er contributor to this thread.  But I do like cool pics.

Probably a good thing you didn’t. Given the photo contest rule dictating the photo entry must be taken during the same month the theme is announced, that “get well soon” deer photo might win you a cool hefty fine and confiscation of your rifle.

Unless you’re referring to an axis, fallow, or other exotic deer that’s legal to shoot in July.

Indeed they are. Sadly I made the last little bit of Axis that I had. Lovie Chicken-fried them and made creamy peppered jalapeno gravy to accompany it. That is my favorite plate dinner.
