Ed, if you really want a 1886 Winchester, and don't mind if it says Browning on it and is a carbine in 45-70. Then I know the guy that owns the one used in that hit TV reality show "Guntucky". He might even part with it for the right price.

What is your shooting technique? I ask as some folks put the gun down pretty low on their shoulder and it requires you to bend and push your neck down to the stock, basically leaning into the gun. Makes the length of pull seem a bit shorter. Another technique, if you put the bottom of the stock in the little pocket right below your collar bone, then you don't have to bend your neck at all as the stock is raised into your cheek weld. Makes that LOP feel much longer. It can give you an inch or two. I have the same issue as you, many stocks are pretty short for me. But this helps a lot. Plus for me it seems much faster to just bring the gun up to your cheek instead of having to bring the gun up and bring my head down. I was taught to shoot AR-15s that way, and now use it for all my long guns.   |

My buddie named EDDIE, believe it or not, bought four raffle tickets at a CHURCH in Corsicana that was going to raffle off 52 firearms ( one a week ) for a boy who has cancer. Once they had sold all the tickets they began to pick them out!  In January he was picked and won a Canik 9mm pistol! This week he was notified and won the Remington. He's already stuck a Vortex scope on it. I forgot to study the scope, but I did look at the rifle. Unbelievable. |

Eduardo, I saw two Heritage Rough riders in 22LR 22WMR in the local gunshop here. $145 for the 4.75" barrel and $157 for the 6.5" barrel. $159 for the 6.5" in 22LR or 22 Mag also with a free holster.
All with cocobolo grips, blued. Something even we could afford...
