Lets see, when Obama was president, GM and Chrysler took money from the Government and had to reorganize at the Governments direction. This caused the loss of brands, dealerships, jobs, and people's business. Ford told Obama and the Government to pound sand, and went their own way. They didn't loose brands, or dealerships.
Oh, and speaking of race day, I think there are some big name races, like the 24 hours at Le Mans (which used to be the name of a car made by Pontiac, but that brand is no longer around) that Ford keeps winning. Does GM even enter a car at Le Mans? I've also heard that the Mustangs that Ford has been running in NASCAR are doing very good too.
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

The brand of the engine/car means little in Nascar.  They are all built to the same 358ci, and around 850 HP.  They are designed to last one race with exception of the block and heads (They can be reused a time or two).  The driver and the team that sets up the car for the specific track/race environment are what really matters.
Lifetime warranty and excellent customer service don't mean a thing when your gun fails during a zombie attack.

750 hp or 550 hp now depending on the track they are running.

Not sure if there is a GM factory entry, but there are a number of teams that run a Corvette. Which is in a different class that is slower than the overall winner class. An interesting tidbit Audi/VW won it 13 times I believe with most if not all with a diesel powered car.

I wouldn't put too much stock in anything coming out of Le Mans in terms of race results. Basically the field is so fragmented with classes you can't really tell who's running against who. Doesn't even get that much press coverage anymore.

My favorite vehicle I’ve owned so far was a ‘79 Bronco, had it for 20+ years, lots of great memories.  Bandito

Yes it was a 79 Bronco that I flopped over! I loved it although it was a ROUGH RIDE because of the wheel base!

I had mine set up pretty well, the ride was actually pretty good. The u joints were the Achilles heal, I had mine go out a few times, the fuel pump went out once because the gas tank had rusted up, other than that it was trouble free. Because of the gearing it didn’t like going over 75 down the freeway, the steering radius was unbelievable, you could turn it on a dime, as for a 4x4 it did what I needed it to do though the old Broncos (1st gen) wheeled the best. Had a rag top that went on it spring through fall, then swapped for the hard top during the winter months. Man it was a cool truck... uhhh station wagon, that what the registration said. Wink

The company Bronco I had was great but on rough roads the bouncing would kill you....stuff in the back would fly a foot in the air when you hit a bad bump or hole!  And out in the reservations the roads were BAD!!!!
