I understand the headshed label now. I thought that's what you were talking about.

Morning all!

Clearing up nicely here and expecting to be a nice weekend.

Hoping to get down the rifle club on Sunday.

The K31 has the nicest military rifle trigger I've ever felt.

They are a very good rifle and it's a remarkably good hunting cartridge.

Evening gents.

Well the dreaded gully washer was a bust, but it did rain. We've had so much rain that the ground is soaked, so the small amount of rain we had this evening is causing flooding.

Went to the Military Show of Shows Friday and Saturday. talked to a friend of mine that was set up at the show. He sells manuals. Most of them are German manuals that he has translated to English.
Anyway we got to talking about collectible flags and banners; he's a big flag collector. Turns out, he has an American flag from the USS Missouri, and it has a story. He obtained the flag from a friend of his who's father was on the USS Missouri during WWII. One of his jobs was to raise and lower the American on the ship.
The ship had 5 American flags that were stored in seperate numbered lockers, and the flags were numbered to the lockers. Locker number 1 or flag 1 was the worst conditioned flag and was the one used when they were out to sea. As the ship got closer to ports or VIPs then the nicer flags would be brought out and flown with number 5 being brought out for only the most important occasions. When flag 1 became unserviceable then all the flags were rotated to the next locker and renumbered.
When the war was over, and the USS Missouri returned to the US, flag number 5 was given to this sailor since he had been raising and lowering the ship's flags all that time.
I thought about it for a moment. The Japanese surrender was signed on the USS Missouri. I would think a ship's captain would think that is a pretty important occasion and would fly the best flag. So I said to my friend. "That may well have been the flag that flying at the Japanese surrender". All he said was, "That may be, but I have no way of knowing". Either way, that has to be a cherished possession of his, and I think a cool story.

That is an incredible piece of history, BeltFed!

Did you see any M37s at that show?  I would like to buy one for about $200.

Afternoon gents.

Windy here, and partly sunny.

I love going to the Show of Shows. It's a show I could easily go broke at, but I realize this so I usually don't spend that much, but I manage to find just what I'm looking for and then some. It's the then some I have to be careful of. I also usually hear some kind of very interesting story that sticks with me. Well worth the price of admission.

Good morning folks,

Gorgeous weather here continues after a great weekend of it.

Got to the range on Sunday afternoon and was rather disappointed with the 63gr Geco ammo I bought. Got quite wide groups and occasional flyers combined with some quite sooty casing necks โ˜นClearly it isnโ€™t quite the good stuff I remember or they've changed the batches slightly for export

Scrummy

Was sure I had a point when I started this post...

Mornin gents.

Sucks to be you G. Good luck with the sick kids.

Hardly a cloud in the sky, the wind has calmed down, but it's kinda cool.

Other than the weather, I had a large weekend, and the rain wasn't as bad as predicted.
