BF.  Love the car.

Trying to talk dad into a new GT500.... he's been eyeing the GT350's but I told him go big or go home.

Howdy all.

I'm with your dad G. The 500 is crazy expensive right now, plus it's the first year with a new engine, transmission, and super charger. The 350 and 350R are proven, and the 350R keeps winning Race Car of the year. It's doesn't come out on top of everything, but it comes close enough at everything to be the best all around.
The dealership I got my GT at had 2 Shelby's in the showroom. One was a 19 for 65,000 adjusted to 75,000. The other was an 18 with 4,000 miles. They were asking 59,000 for the 18, but I was told it could be had for 52,000, and you couldn't tell it had ever been on the road. It had belonged to the head A&P mechanic for UPS. I also checked cars.com and one and two year old Shelby's were going for about the same price. one was 49,000 with 12,000 miles on it.

Nope, this cold has been the worst I’ve ever had.

Will be out this weekend no matter what.

Started out a 16degF this morning... now a warm, sunny 20degF.  Will be hot later... supposed to get up to 51.
Just about hunting weather.  This will be the first year I've truly hunted in quite a few.

yeah BF.. dad wants one to put up and drive on "good" days as an investment more than anything.  Figured the first year new style GT500's would be worth a premium a few years from now with little to no mileage.

Morning all,

Yes sir, BF! Will try and get out next week and nail some vampire deer. Some of the tree-stands have moved so will need to ferret them out.

G, cars are not short term investments. Maybe in 20 years with low miles, and showroom condition he can actually make money off of it. Otherwise buy it, drive it, and enjoy it as long as he wants, if that's what he wants. It's not going to retain or increase in value.

Mike, are you telling me that the trees walked away with your tree stands like those trees in "Lord of the Rings"?

In my younger days, I would have gotten dressed and gone deer hunting if it was 6*, just to prove I could do it. After all, the deer are out there. Now, I'll wait for Kroger to open and send Mrs BF to pick up some steaks.

Good morning all

BF.  I agree cars are a longer investment.   And also risky...... One of the guys he eats breakfast with bought a brand new corvette when the body style changed about 5 or so years ago..... he went top of the line.    He has only put about 1200 miles on it.   Dealership offered him $20K over what he paid for it last time he brought it in for his annual service..... he declined.... on the way home, a teenager rear ended him...... went from $20K over what he paid to $20K under NADA in value due to the damage and blemished Carfax.   Still think the man is crying at times thinking about it.

Dad drove a GT when we got his F150 diesel and he loved it.... My honest thought is that if it wasn't so blame hard to get in and out of for him he'd already own one.... but hes 6'4" and got really bad ankles so I don't think he enjoyed the in and out of it.

The Muskrat was hard to get in and out of because it was so close to the ground. The new one is even harder, because it's so close to the ground and it has a side splitter that keeps me from putting my feet closer to the car. Try sitting on a short stool with your feet out under your knees and then stand up. Gotta figure an easier way of getting out.

G, might I suggest a 2019 or 20 Bullitt with MagaRide in Highlander Green to your dad. More horse power in a Performance Pack with minimumalist body. not as much money and may have the same return rate. I believe 2020 is going to be the last year of the Bullitt. However, it still has those side splitters.

IF he does it he'll go GT500... he won't do anything else but I honestly doubt he'll do it.  With the truck purchase he's not itching for a while I bet. He's really liking the 3.0 powerstroke lol
