You want to hear a funny story about that.

Well we were flying a mission over Iraq and we taking troops and supplies into a remote location. We're going through our pre-decent checks and right about that time i get that "oh no, im going to have a problem here" feeling. Our jobs on decent were to scan for enemy threats and any sort of projectiles being fired in our direction from the paratroop doors. Well i had to make a really quick decision. Interrupt the decent checks and have the pilot hold for 5 minutes while i climbed over pallets and supplies to the sh*tter....orrrrrr crap my flight suit?

Which do you think i chose? Wink

You bet your ass i radioed up to the pilot and said "pilot, loadmaster has a problem, i need to use the bathroom immediately, can we hold? So there we are in a holding pattern while i'm taking a dump over Iraq! Big Grin I was off the pot in less than 2 minutes and back in my window. Bucky

Then the plane goes out and parks on the ramp in the hot sun for 2 hours while it is rerouted because they missed their take off window.

C-130 H model.....the old E models had the honeybucket but our 92-93's actually had a sh*tter but it was mounted on the sidewall and you had a swing curtain to pull around you.

I love the tactical flying of the 130. The 141's and 17's are like commercial planes. We did a lot of tactical low level flying and some damn gutwrenching flying over there, especially if engaged. I actually watched a towelhead fire a SA-7 at us and called out the threat, "flares, flares, flares, break left  (into missle). Pilot banked HARD left at 60 degrees and i watched the damn thing fly underneath us glued to my seat and window because of the G force.

Some hairy moments especially early in the war but i really loved flying. It was a great job.

Passengers are to remain seated and seatbelts fastened while we are waiting to takeoff.

Grandma makes rhubarb blueberry jam.  Good stuff.  Breakfast when we visit her is dozen scrambled eggs with chopped up bacon mixed in, sausage patties, toast with jam, juice and coffee.  Without fail she makes it every time we visit.  Problem is there are only 4 of us and grandma and my wife don't eat much and grandma don't like leftovers.  Never loose weight at grandma's house.

Thanks Julio....i enjoyed my time serving. Really was a integral part of me maturing and getting to do things that most people don't.

Glad to hear the painter is out of there lol. Hope he didn't get the full amount.

I'll bet Iraq was quite an experience....Did you carry a M-16? If so what type of Optics did you have on it, what kinds of Scopes and Sights are they using over there? Im trying to make up my mind for my 6.8 which mean either wait for new SS 1x4 or buy a Accupoint 1x4.. I know Jason Supertool just loves his new Trijicon and I trust his opinion very much, good man!
So again what do they got over seas?

Paul I would not have paid the painter the full amount as he did not deserve it!! I have Kids and Grandkids and my Wife... If it was just me it would be different..

I did not tell you guys the Painter went off and lost his temper and threatened to put a lein on our house, Blaw, Blaw, Blaw.. I doubt he could have done that to us seriously.. But I was worried about some sort of retalliation if I did not pay the Pointy Nosed f**ker.. I mean you just can't kill em all....Bucky   Anymore I hate fricken Drama in my life.. Leave that stuff for Linsey Lohan

We carried 9mm's on our person and depending on missions M4's on board. I got to do a lot of shooting on different platforms though. We carried literally anyone you can imagine into different locations. Army, Marines, Special Forces, government personnel. You saw a lot of different configs on weapons. TONS of Aimpoints with the Army....although the special forces usually buy their own optics and vary from person to person. My brother who is an Army Ranger just bought an Elcan http://swfa.com/Elcan-1x4x-SpecterDR-Optical-Sight-P7189.aspx for his 6.8.

Eotech's and Aimpoints were the 2 most common. You saw some ACOG's  and smaller variable power scopes but most ground guys were running fixed power/red dots.

That Elcan is way to spendy for this cat. I will spend no more than 1,200 on a Tactical or Huntin Scope......A guy can get a pretty nice one for under 1,000 though in most cases. Maybe just put that SS 3x9 I have on my 6.8 AR and then mount a 1X sight on top or to the side of it.. I sure like the glass on my SS 3x9x42.. Im pretty excited about some of the new SS scopes coming out in the future.....

Oh yeah, id never spend that much either. I don't put my life or others on the line on a daily basis. I completely understand why my brother and others like him spend their own money on top of the line optics. They're doing one of the most dangerous jobs and they need the absolute best equipment.

I'm completely fine with Eotech or similar products for my usage.

You know i have a variable Burris on my AR now (2-7x) and really it's too much scope. I am really thinking of downsizing to a 1-4x, possibly accupoint.

For what i use it for i really don't need anything more than 3 or 4x.
