Yeah, but then you spend so much time waiting to be pulled out of the 3" of snow you got stuck in, or the local Taco John's drive thru.

no thanks if i wanted a rough ride i would buy an old sherman tankWink

im not a chevy fan i think they give the best ride out of the big three in the 1/2 ton pickup category. if i were after a 3/4 ton work truck i would have a ford no doubt. i dont like the f-150 for some reason they just dont ride right. i dont like dodge either.

i am looking at buying a chevy suburban for the wife here pretty quick though. i like the 5.3 motor  i like the ride i really like their leather seats. probably more importantly, ive spent a fair amount of time working on them over the years. the oil company my dad works for ( which he is the head honcho in  the auto shop and the industrial engine shop) runs about 98% chevy trucks, only a select few guys out there have fords and all of those are f-450's. so ive worked on a lot of chevy trucks over the years and feel pretty comfortable working on them helps i think. i can fix something wrong most of the time and save money with parts and labor over the dealership doing it. if i run into trouble ive got a whole shop full of mechanics at my disposal to talk me through any issues i run into which is nice.

Actually Sherman tanks have a smoother ride than most Cadilacs; their just a PITA to drive.

After hearing about all the transmission problems that the 1/2 ton Dodge and Fords have had I would have to go with a 3/4 ton.

there would be less tranny issues in the world today if people wouldnt have gotten so lazy. i really miss those days where an automatic was a special order item and a 5 speed was standard.

I am not big on domestic made vehicles anymore, I bought in 02 a brand new 03' gmc sierra z71, fully loaded. I NEVER PUT THE TRUCK IN 4-wheel drive and at 10,000 miles the service 4x4 light came on, carried it in, and they had to replace the entire front differential because of something, fixed under warranty got a loaner, no big deal, at 15,000 same thing happened only this time it was the hubs they say, keep in mind it has yet to be used in 4x4.  No problems again until 28000 miles, tranny took a nose dive, reason, 4x4 clutch was auto engaging at differnt times and smoked everyting in the tranny, replaced under warranty.  36017 miles, 17 miles outside factory warranty the rear end went to hell, sheared 8 teeth off the pinion gear, towed it in and they weren't going to cover it.  We had an attorney contact GMAC about the repair because of all the other problems and finally after they dealership was served papers they agreed to fix it at no cost, traded it the day I got it back.  never own another GM made vehicle that was built after the late 90's they all went to hell IMO.

I bought my First 4x4 GMC in 1976, Ive owned several 6 since. The 2000 GMC Truck I have today has 110 thousand miles on it and Ive not had a problem with any of them. Except one and it was a 97 GMC and GM replaced the Motor at no charge to me. I think thats pretty darn good and I will continue to buy GMC's for the rest of my life. I also do not mind Fords and would probably buy one, but I prefer GMC. Both are pretty good Trucks. The whole Chevy Eats Fords and Vice Versa Bullsh*t is so Childish/Imature I cannot believe people actually admit they think that way....

the last ford f-150 i rode in was a 2005-2006 model lariat xlt all the bells and whistles leather seats just like i like them, but the ride seemed funky for some reason. the 99 and newer chevys are all nice rides, even the z71's with the off road setups dont ride to bad, thats the most important part for me. mine gets 15mpg around here and ive got up 21 on the highway i imagine if i invested in a tonneau cover it would do a little better.

My 2000 GMC has a 6" RCD lift, its lifted maybe 5" er so. Just enough to get some brand new19570R/16 BFG AT's on it..Its got all the Bells and Whistles too, dual exhaust, its pure white and trimmed in white. No black or other color anywhere, it looks brand new almost...BUT my gas milage sucks beacause of the oversized tires and lift. It can crawl over anything I need it to though.

hmmm, sounds like you got a serious lemon.  02' yukon 169k on it, nothing but tuneup and brakes.. starts up like it is brand new, doesn't burn a lick of oil...  course i've been diligent about oil changes, air filters and injector cleaners blah blah.

Those were pretty wild photos! The ram must have landed on his head to knock off a horn like that and break his jaw.

that must have been a helluva ride to the bottom, that sudden stop gets you every time though, im wondering if the cat landed on its feet, i can tell the sheep did judging by the broken legs in the pictures.
