Finally found the needle in the haystack I've been looking for. Acquired a Cooper Firearms Open Country in .300 Win Mag. The rifle comes with a 10moa Picatinny rail on it. I'm going to mount my Nightforce NXS 5.5-22X50 on the gun for the time being and I want to get the optic as low as possible. I had it mounted on a Remington 700 Varmint in a 20 MOA DNZ Tactical 1pc medium mount but I know some ring sets allow you to go with Low heights to get it down. Or should I stick with mediums? What rings would you suggest? I've used DNZ on the 700's I own and the Optilocks on the Sako's I've been shooting the last few years so this is a new ballgame to me. I was thinking Badger or NF but there may be something better and more cost effective.

I tend to like the medium rings because I want to add scope caps but the word LOW and MEDIUM seem to have different meanings to some manufacturers. I have  several brands of rings .  Do you need a quick detach ability La Rue 719. Are you trying to keep cost down? (Warne or Super Sniper) Honestly there are some rings out there that are very expensive and I'm not sure they do any better than Warne rings or the Super Sniper house brand rings.  Talley rings are very high quality like Badger.

Talley is pretty much in my back yard and I honestly didn’t even think of them. There’s my duh’oh moment. Got Warne’s on a a couple No.1’s as well. Don’t want QD’s.
