This is a stock a customer sent me wanting the small crack fixed, I was up for the challenge. I sure hope he likes it.

This is the small crack and small hole for one of the steel pins.

with pin inserted and a few items holding the parts in the correct place. well just in case

This is after a little sanding. when the customer works his touch on it there shouldn't be any real noticeable marks on it. i would do it with a dark stain and let the grain of the wood hide the small fix line.

That looks good considering what it was.  Great job Brandon.

I have a 1903 Springfield that was given to me by a friend. It had a crack in the wrist of the stock that made me afraid to shoot it, for fear of having the action end up in my face. I thought about trying to repair it, but decided to replace it instead. I picked a used 1903 stock that looked good out of a bunch of 1903 stocks. When I started the process of switching over parts, I discovered it had a crack in the wrist too. I ended up buying a new reproduction 1903 C stock with the semi pistol grip. Haven't had the chance to put it back together yet.
Nice repair Brando.

Nicely done!

Modern adhesives seem to be stronger than the wood itself. If properly glued, any new breakage would be in a new spot, not where the original crack was.

If it brakes again it will not be in the same spot.
