One of the bars I worked in Makers Mark was my "well" whiskey.

Anybody know anything about "Basil Hayden's" bourbon?

A friend gave me a bottle for my birthday. I like it.
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

I like it and have more than a few of the copper bands lying around.
It has a nice spicy finish from the rye in the mash.

Yes, Basil Hayden’s is one of my favorite bourbons. It has a large % of rye in the mash along with the corn, which gives BH a bit of spiciness to complement the sweetness of the corn mash.

Basil Hayden's is one of my very favoritist of bourbons.  I gave a bottle to a friend from Phoenix at YPG and he drinks nothing else now.  I mean, if you offer him a taste of something else, he'll probably try it, but he has purchased no other whiskey than Basil Hayden's since I gave him that bottle.
It is a exceptional distillation.

Perfect "end" to a perfect New Year's Day...
cooked a 2" thick grain-fed, Angus beef rib-eye steak with black-eyed peas, with a very nice merlot(my wife keeps telling me we should open a restaurant).  While cooking I did some target practice at 30 meters with my S&W M22A-1 and FN 5.7.
Finished off with Taylor Fladgate Port and a Partagas Limited Edition Lonsdale cigar...
So far, retirement is looking pretty good...

Hi folks, my Brother in Law gave me a bottle of Strathisla speyside for Christmas and had a couple of sips of it last night as part of NYE. Really very pleasant.
Was sure I had a point when I started this post...
