Well I finally made a decision and bought some new bins.  I went for the Pentax DCF SP 10X43.  This was originally what I was going to get before I started leaning towards the high dollar top three.  What really sold me was the fact that I was able to use these outdoors and compare them to the DCF HRII 8X42 that I currently own.  They were much brighter and should serve my needs well.  The other main consideration was cost.  I was able to purchase the bins as well as a Pentax PF80ED spotting scope with the 20-60 zoom lense for a total of $1200.  This way I was able to upgrade both my scope and bins and still save several hundred dollars over the ELs that I was wanting to purchase.  I should receive them on Friday and can't wait to do some comparisons between scopes as well as binoculars.

Thanks for all of the help.

I've been using my 8X43 SP's for about a year now and like them.  I think you'll be happy.  Let us know how the Pentax scope works,  Congrats!
