Sorry, no new updates. I'm really excited to get them out there, but we won't release them until they are ready. Wish I could give you more than that, but I can't right now.

We have a preliminary estimate of June when we'll be shipping the first ones out, but that isn't a firm date. Hopefully we'll have better info soon. Wish I had a better answer for you, but this is our best estimate. Feel free to contact us anytime if you have any further questions .

Wow this scope is exactly what im looking for, power, reticle, mil-mil and price. i think it would be a nice match for my bmg. I realize its hard to answer but how well do you think it would hold up to the unique recoil and percussion of the .50bmg?

The big 50's are no problem for any of our Vipers.

Scott,

Remington 700, Badger 20 MOA base.

Looking at your 30mm precision matched rings and this scope:

My calculations are that low rings will be ok. Can you confirm or should i buy medium rings in anticipation of this thing?

Anything .92" or higher will work.

Hi Scott,

While you're answering ring questions ....

I've got a Rem 700, 300 Win Mag, with a #8 Heavy Bull Barrel, and a Badger Zero Cant Rail.

I'm ordering the Vortex 4-16 x 50 Viper PST from SWFA and want to order rings at the same time. I like the Badger Max-50 Rings but I see they only come in .823", 1.125", and 1.45" ...

I think the .823" will be too low. Would I be ok with the 1.125" .. OR would I be better off getting the standard (non-Max-50) 1" rings??

Thanks,
Marc

Scott

Is that .92" ring height only OR ring height+base height for a total of .92"?

I am guessing the former but want to be sure.

Ring height- from the bottom of the ring where it sits on the rail to the centerline of the scope.

In my opinion the max-50's are slight overkill.  If you go with badgers you will have to use 1.0" high.  http://swfa.com/Badger-Ordnance-Maximized-Scope-30mm-Rings-P214.aspx

While we are on the subject of rings, is there any chance you guys might comment on why you went with two smaller screws to secure the precision rings to a pica tinny base rather than a larger single fastener?

Well to be honest we didnt come up with it, but the main reasons are that it creates an anti-snag type ring and it allows for better distribution clamping surface which is very strong and as long as it is torqued correctly it is a very precise system that stays very true.

For those of you who have used Seekins rings, you'll find these very familiar.      Big Smile

They are excellent, actually my favorite of all tactical rings.

Hi Scott,

Are the Badger rings really on backorder as well? Or is it just cause they are on the same order as the scope? Just curious?

Any updates on when the scopes will be in? My newly built rifle is screaming to be shot. May have to get something else for it, till these come in.

Thanks

Whether or not those Vortex precision rings are made by or licensed from Seekins, I'm kind of surprised by the $20 price difference.
Reaction time is a factor...
