I understand what the erector tube does inside a scope with respect to changing the poi. But I cannot not find online what specifically accomplishes this.

I know it looks like the reticle is moving but I have to believe the reticle is fixed and it's the image off the front erector lens that is actually moving ( or tipping ?? ) when adjusting. Yeah or nah?

Depends if the reticle is first focal point or second focal point

So the reticle moves in one and doesn't in the other? I thought FFP and SFP was simply based on whether the reticle is set in front or behind the magnification array.  Don't see what that has to do with what moves when the elevation/windage turrets are adjusted?

Sorry i didnt disern your question properly. I have been dopped up on percocets for a week.

Ffp the reticle is on the front side of the erector so when you adjust the mag on the target the reticle adjusts size accordingly. Sfp is near the eye peice so it does not change with magnification, which it sounds like you already have down.

The erector is a tube inside the scope tube. It physically moves up, down, left , right, in the tube. The reticle being attached to the erector moves with it. It is designed this way so it appears the reticle is always centered in the tube evn though it is not. I have an IOR scope that actually does not stay centered and its a little odd as when zeroed it sits hight and to the right in the image.
